"Start Coaching at Rock Ridge Youth Hockey Today!"

To kick off the season, all RRYHA coaches must complete the following:

• Pass a background check
• Register with USA Hockey
• Complete the age-specific online module
• Finish concussion training and watch the SafeSport video
• Complete CEP training as required by USA Hockey & MN Hockey guidelines

STEP 1: Submit Your Application

Submit a letter of interest and your coaching application to the RRYHA Youth Hockey Director. Include:

• The team/level you’d like to coach
• Why you want to coach
• Your coaching philosophy
• What makes you a great coach

This application must be submitted yearly. Once selected as a coach, you will proceed to Step 2.

STEP 2: Register with USA Hockey

All coaches must register on the USA Hockey website.

1. Register and pay the coaching fee.
2. Print your registration confirmation.
3. Submit the confirmation to Brandon Wudinich for reimbursement using the form linked below.

RRYHA will reimburse your coaching fee—easy and straightforward!

STEP 3: Complete Your Background Screening

Submit a Background Screening request through USA Hockey.

Important: Coaches cannot be on the ice until the screening has been submitted and approved.

STEP 4: Complete Required Training

To ensure a safe and professional experience, all coaches must complete the following:

1. SafeSport Training – Required your first year and every other year after.
2. Concussion Training – Required bi-yearly (also included in age-specific modules).
3. Coaching Education Program (CEP) – Refer to USA Hockey’s website for CEP requirements.
4. Age-Specific Modules – Check USA Hockey’s website for requirements based on your level.
