Locker Room Policies


Rock Ridge Youth Hockey Association (RRYHA) is committed to following the guidelines set forth by MN Hockey District 12 and USA Hockey’s SafeSport Program to help protect our participants from physical abuse, sexual abuse and other types of misconduct, including emotional abuse, bullying, threats, harassment, and hazing. To ensure that these goals are met, RRYHA has committed to the following Locker Room Monitoring (LRM) Policies and Procedures, which are designed to maintain personal privacy as well as reduce the risk of misconduct within locker rooms.


From Handbook:

Keep floors clean and free from all litter. Failure to keep the locker rooms clean may result in the loss of locker room privileges

Cell phone use, or the use of devices capable of taking pictures or recordings, isprohibited in all locker rooms.

No Food in the locker room.

There will be no rough-housing, horseplay, or bullying in the locker rooms and/or the buildings.

Spitting in the building, other than on the ice, is strictly forbidden. Spitting may result in the loss of locker room privileges for your team.

Respect Locker room monitors. Only adults who have registered through USA Hockey, have successfully completed a background check and Safe Sport training, shall be in the locker room at Squirt/10U, PeeWee/12U, and Bantam levels.

a. Locker room Attendant and/or Coach will remain inside locker room until the last player leaves the locker room.

b. Locker room Attendant and/or Coach must be of the same gender as players using the locker room until a base layer is on.

c. Locker room will be secured by Coach and/or Locker room monitors while team is on the ice.

Mini Mite and Mites/8U strongly recommend only 1 adult per child in the locker room.

Coach and/or locker room attendant who has successfully completed a background check and Safe Sport training must be present in locker room until last player leaves the locker room.

No players are to enter locker rooms until a coach or a SafeSport-trained, background-checked checked and approved person is present.

A sweep of locker room should be done by Coach and/or Locker room monitors prior to athletes entering locker room.
